What will it cost to make the necessary changes?

Most seniors are aware there are things they can do to make aging in place safer but many wait until after an accident to do anything.  There are many things you can do in your home that are fairly simple and cost effective.  These changes don’t need to look or feel “industrial”.  Some folks realize they will need to make some modifications in their home to allow them to live independently but are concerned they won’t be able to afford the change.

The average cost for modifications is $10,000.  There is a good article published by RetirementLiving.com at www.retirementliving.com/the-cost-of-aging-in-place-remodeling on the most common changes and their average cost.
